About
Cancer is the leading cause of death in dogs, affecting approximately 1 in 4 dogs, with >50% of dogs over the age of 10 developing the disease. It is estimated that 6 million dogs are diagnosed with cancer yearly. There are only approximately 450 veterinary oncologists, many of whom are concentrated in major metropolitan areas, so many pet owners must travel considerable distances to seek out specialty oncology care. Due to high demand, the wait time for a consultation can be weeks to months and these pets cannot wait. Lotus Pet Oncology helps by providing access to a board-certified oncologist working in conjunction with the primary care veterinarian. Dr. Stacy Binstock offers a personalized approach to every pet and considers all factors influencing the decisions made when considering the available treatment options. She works extensively with primary care veterinarians to help guide them through diagnosing, managing, and treating dogs and cats with cancer.
